Knabstrupper Stallion Who Overcame 3 Broken Legs and Loss Of His Eye Sight
Meet Hugin a stunning Knabstrupper stallion who became Premium Champion Stallion of the Year in Denmark with dressage trainer Bent Branderup, but after an accident which resulted in fractures in both rear femurs and a front splint bone, the vet recommended euthanasia. But Bent Branderup would say no and start on the long journey to rehabilitate Hugin.
After his long road to recovery Hugin would suffer another major setback as he would go blind in both his eyes, but Bent would continue to work with his long time partner. Hugin would pass away at the age of 27 years after 25 years together with Bent Branderup. Below you can watch a tribute to Hugin created by Bent Branderup.
