Midu Arabians
Midu Arabians is a small breeding stud, on 18 acres of lush pastures. We are situated approximately 45 minutes drive west of the Brisbane CBD, in the beautiful Lockyer Valley. The stud facilities included 6 separate stables with run yards, permanent town water supply, round exercise yard, and undercover wash bay.
The stud was founded in 1985 with the purchase of 2 purebred mares of English bloodlines, one of which (Pimpala Akoolah) was to become our foundation mare. We then purchased the stallion, Talquah Telstar (Arim X Kehilan Star Queen). After our initial purchase, and a lot of research, we decided that we would breed predominantly English/Egyptian bloodlines.
In 1994, a special colt was born, MIDU SILVER SULTAN (Kardo Mordo Khamsin x Midu Kalexi). Midu Arabians decided to keep this colt and he is today one of our senior stallions.
In 1995 our dream was realized when we imported the Straight Egyptian Stallion MEADOW MAGIC (IMP USA). We then spent a lot of time acquiring a collection of mares to breed to both of these stallions, some of these mares we purchased and some were bred by Midu Arabians.
In 2003, another dream was realized, when we acquired two Straight Egyptian Mares to breed to Meadow Magic, and so the next phase of our breeding program is about to commence.
We are a small stud, and do not breed foals every year, but we endeavor to breed pretty, functional foals, that will do whatever their owners require of them. Midu Arabians show their horses at halter and under saddle.
We welcome visitors to our stud, to enjoy seeing our beautiful horses and to chat about our passion- the Arabian Horse.

Charaway Arabian Stud
CHARAWAY Arabian Stud was started over 20 years ago by Wayne Beasley with the purchase of a part bred Arabian station mare. The resulting foal from this mare then gave birth to the Prefix, Charaway.With the purchase of Vet School Madam in foal to Wollongbar Romulus17 years ago, the breeding of purebred Arabians started. Charaway Madonna was born and the decision was made to purchase her Sire to continue breeding strong purebreds and Derivatives. Wollongbar Romulus bred some wonderful horses in his years, including Charaway Madonna, Charaway Alark (Australian Champion Partbred Halter), Vet School Alladin (Quilty Buckle winner - Endurance), Vet School Lawrence (World Bronze Medal Winner - Endurance).
For a number of years the Stud`s direction was with Crabbet and English related horses, but it the late eighties and new path was started. While doing electrical work at El Arab Stud, Wayne was transfixed by a young bay Colt. Every day he would watch this colt in his yard. It was only a matter of time before the sale was final, and Aivu was brought home (see stallion page). Aivu`s daughter`s are now the cornerstone of Charaway, producing consistent champions in Halter, Performance and Endurance, as well as wonderful pleasure horses.
After a number of years searching for the next step, the fairytale Arabian Kasmon was purchased to breed over the Aivu daughters and other mares of Charaway. And the results speak for themselves. Consistent champions in Halter, and his older stock have proved there worth in Endurance, Arabian Racing and the breeding paddocks. Champions such as Hott Khocolate, Charaway Hott Fudge, Sangria Kapeche and Charmarian Hassan have all flown the flag for Kasmon prepotency. All show the same traits of strength of body, exceptional movement, type, and wonderful attitude.
Wayne and Hott KhocolateThe Legacy of Kasmon will carry on for many generations to come, and his weanling son Envy is being retained by Charaway to continue in his sires shadow. All Charaway horses that come of age are trained under saddle and started on cattle. With the luxury of having the use of 700 acres of cattle property adjacent, they are ridden over rolling hills and scrub forest. Youngsters are conditioned lightly with predominate work being free-lunging and swimming. The change of environment and atmosphere helps maintain a wonderful attitude and better personality in the ring, both for saddle and halter. We currently have horses in work for the 2003 Show season and the Endurance circuit. With the memory of Kasmon to keep alive, Charaway will continue to be a strong force over the coming years.

Midu Silver Sultan, a 15.1hh, grey, Syr old stallion was bred by Midu Arabians, by the Australian Reserve Champion stallion Karda Mordo. Khamsin, and out of the beautiful Midu KalexiSultan was shown actively as a young horse, winning many championships, culminating in finalist spot out of 42 horses at the 1998 Australian Championships, and Reserve Champion Year Show. Due to bean retired from the show arena, but continues with his stud duties, He is a very beautiful horse, with a lovely heat correct conformation, good legs and feet, and a `very people friendly nature, which he consistently passes on to his foals. Sultan does not stand at public stud, Midu Arabians occasionally accept `Outside mares at private treaty, Foals by Midu Silver Sultan are occasionally for sale.
