These Unbelievable Horse Sculptures Will Amaze and Delight You
As horse lovers we enjoy the companionship of our animals as well as the sport aspect of owning a horse, If you are an art lover too then you will absolutely love our collection of the best and most original horse sculptures created by some of the most talented artisans in the World.
Our First Sculpture is By Brandon Wilson Mountainside Sculpture & Design, this impressive sculpture of prize-winning pony, Cowboy Casanova was made from a 13-foot maple stump. Mountainside Sculpture specialise in large scale animal sculptures made out of single logs using mainly a chainsaw - Find them on Facebook @MountainsideSculptureDesign
This next stunning horse themed sculpture is created using scrap metal and is by Tasmanian artist Matt Sloane of Sloane Sculpture. He specialises in making unique sculptures of animals using recycled steel and old farm machinery, this is his latest passion project and second horse sculpture which Matt has admitted to being super happy with, check his Facebook page @Sloanesculpture
His First Horse sculpture has found a home across the ocean in New York.
The next horse themed sculpture is this moving piece of a little girl kissing a horse is cut straight from a tree stump, an exhibit from the 2018 International Wooden Sculpture Festival in Irkutsk, Russia and is named Friendship.
Many of you may have seen driftwood horse sculptures carvings before, they are essentially as they sound made up from wood washed into shores, they tend to have smooth lines and edges which lend themselves to the shape of a horse perfectly. This one is by artist Abdul Ghofur.
One very famous and very large scale horse sculpture is The Kelpies, in Scottish legend kelpies are dangerous shape shifting creatures that appear as a grey or white horse when on land, it entices them onto their back and runs them back into the water and into a watery grave.
Thankfully the Kelpies we are discussing are the largest equine sculptures in the World, the stand at over 100ft tall and weigh more than 300 tonnes each. Created by artist Andy Scott, these magnificent structures have fast become one of Scotland`s most popular tourist resorts and become an iconic part of the landscape. The next 2 sculptures themed around horses are both brilliant but we are unable to find the original artist or company who have produced them so if you can point us in the right direction please do.
Can you imagine how long it tool to weld all these horseshoes together to for this showjumping horse? That is not even taking into consideration the level of skill required to scale, design and shape the monumental sculpture.
Our second sculpture is of a mare and her foal but believe it or not is made entirely out of barbed wire of all things, again we do not know the artist so let us know if you know anything about it.
Our final offering is technically a sculpture we think, it is a horse made totally start to finish from crochet, we found this beauty on inspiringdesigns.net where there is a full collection of crochet animals among other brilliant pieces of design.
