The Aachen Grand Prix
The Aachen Grand Prix is an equestrian event that takes place annually in Aachen, Germany. The event was founded in 1898 by the Laurensberger Rennverein and has since developed into one of the premier showjumping events in the world. Over the years, the event has witnessed some remarkable winners, some of whom have gone on to set records that are yet to be broken.
One such rider is Nelson Pessoa, who is the first South American to have won the Grand Prix of Aachen in 1964. Kent Farrington, an American showjumper, ended a 12-year drought for American athletes in the event after winning the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen in 2019.
The Aachen-Laurensberg Racing Club, which was founded in 1889, manages the event.
