Sillogue Maximus
Sillogue Maxamus started his jumping career with Paul Duffy and will be going back jumping after the stud season.
His pedigree Sillogue Maximus is a full brother to Sillogue Darkie who is named as the Pony of the Decade by the Connemara Pony Society. Darkie in 2010 has qualified for the Dublin Horse show, this is the eight time that he has done this , This has been achieved with four different riders. He has won over a staggering 1000 show jumping points, a record which surely could not have been equaled and his International success is without question.
His sire, Ard Talisman
Ard Talisman was bred at Ard Cherrymount Stud. His mother was Supreme Champion at Ballinalee National Connemara Pony Show. She also won many other shows and Championships, she stood 13.2 and was a true Connemara in type doing back to Drimeen Dun the last wild Connemara pony taken from the hills of Connemara. Errislannon Diamante was also a prolific show Champion in Ireland and the UK. Ard Talisman was by Ard Bridge time who took up stud duties late in life to only have three sons pressented for inspection and all three gain full approval. Ard Coneely was also one of these and he went on to become National Supreme Champion Connemara in Clifden as well as winning many other championships and jumping classes too. Their sire Ard Bridge Time was Supreme Champion Ballinasloe at 19 years of age and third in Clifden his only times shown while his sire Bridge Boy won Clifden no less than five times!
His dam, Coillchru Esmerelda; In her younger years won numerous showing in hand classes at agricultural shows around the country. She also bred the Grade A mare Sillogue Rose, started accumulating SJAI points late last year, with the same well known performance breeder Paul Duffy adding that Darkie’s brother “shows excellent scope and athleticism, and will certainly be one to look out for in the future”.
