Showjumping Events From Around The World
Showjumping is one of the most exciting events to watch, but it`s also one of the most exciting events to participate in as an equestrian as well. There are hundreds of showjumping events around the world every year, and if you`re a rider it can be difficult to narrow down which ones you want to try and qualify for, and as an audience member it can be even more difficult to know which ones are worth paying to go to. Of course a lot of this depends on your location, but these are some of the highlights of showjumping from around the world in any given year.
The Washington International Horse Show
It`s not every day that you get to attend one of the world`s biggest horse events in the middle of a city, let alone the capital of the United States. Although the Washington International Horse Show includes other events as well, the showjumping is certainly not one to miss.
With world-renowned riders and impressive up and comers, this show is one of the best and most exciting out there. Unlike some others, it`s held indoors and the tickets can be a bit pricey, but it`s worth it. As a rider, especially an American one, making it to the WIHS is a huge feat.
Bolesworth International
Held in Chester, Cheshire this event is elite and incredibly impressive. Not only is it in a very picturesque area of England, but the arena is perfection and includes jumps and fences that are so creative and fun to look at.
This showjumping event is held in June and if you manage to qualify for it you`ll be moving up in the equestrian world and if you attend it, you won`t regret it because it will be great fun for the whole family.
Rolex Grand Slam Of Showjumping
These events are held in three different cities each year: Aachen, Germany, Geneva, Switzerland and Calgary, Canada. The stands are packed and the atmosphere is electric and it is certainly not an event to miss. These shows take place between July and December and include the best of the best. The shows have an average of 40,000 attendees, which is a huge number of people.
Grassy green fields, perfectly manicured lawns and beautifully groomed horses leaves put these events at the top of the list.
Showjumping is a very exciting sport and although it`s not as well-known or as well-attended as some horseraces, you can attend one almost anywhere in the world and being a part of it is only better.
