Sönke Kohrock
Sönke Kohrock - Germany - Showjumping Rider / Cashfor US by Cullinan du Borget B with Sönke Kohrock
From a young age knew where to go my way. My parents Peter Kohrock (victorious in jumping up to class S), Renate Kohrock (victorious in jumping up to class M, training to class S) and my two brothers Bjorn and Heiner (both victorious in jumping up to class S) with the "virus horses were infected ", it is not far fetched that I have taken the same path.
So I played at the age of nine years, my first tournament. My companions were then called "Little Joe" and "Flambeau," which I owe very much. Then came "Liane". She was one of the best teaching horses you could wish for. An incorrect distance and I learned how hard can be a ground. But in the end we had been fighting together and were serial winner in L-and M-jumping.
At twelve, I won my first M / A in the saddle of "George". With 14 years followed the Golden Reitabzeichen. When I was 16 and had finished my school, I got the chance to go for two years in the stables of Olympic champion Franke Sloothaak. In this very educational time, I won two silver and two gold medals at European Championships, two silver medals at the German Championships and the price of the best.
At 18, I started my apprenticeship. The first year I worked with coach Kurt Meier Grave. The second year at DOKR in Warendorf. Also in that time my tournament results were very satisfactory. One silver and one bronze medal at the European Championships, a silver medal at the German championships, two gold and one silver medal at the price of the best.
In 2001 I went with were already testing (Stenbeck badge in silver) back into the family business.
A very good offer in the most famous stables in Bayern drew me away from home to beautiful Bavaria. Since November 2002 I am now self-employed in Bavaria. When I look back now, I can be proud, Calgary, Derby Hamburg, Berlin, World Cup finals in Leipzig, CSIO Athens, and many more, to have been on championship courses like the CHIO Aachen.
My task now is to build or train horses that we can visit these places sometime again.
Last but not least, I thank especially my parents, without which all this would never have been possible and in all my masters like Franke Sloothaak, Manni Kötter, Grave Kurt Meier, H.-W. Johann man was allowed, Fritz Lutter, Georg Boedicker and everyone else at which I ride course.
