Rock King
Rock King has the most fantastic temperament. He shows three excellent paces and a superb jumping technique.
As a 4 year old he won the Stoneways National Potential Showjumper and was in the final 12 for the Young Event Horse class. As a 5 year old he won 2 Pre-Novices, was 4th in the Burghley Young Event Horse Championship and placed in the Novice and Elementary Winter Dressage Championships. As a 6 year old he won 3 Novice Events, 2 Intermediates and was 3rd in the Novice Championships. As a 7 year old he was in the first four in 7 Open Intermediates including winning the South of England and 2nd in the BEIB Championships at Longleat.
He completed his first CCI** at Burgie with the best dressage mark ever given for 3 day eventing anywhere in the world. He finished 5th and was Best British at the CCI** Le Lion d`Angers in France. He won Tidworth OI in 1998 with a dressage score of 13 and gained over 200 BE points. He was leading BHD Young Stallion by own winnings for the 2nd year running and was again highly placed in the South East Eventers League. All this was achieved whilst standing at stud, proving his excellent temperament and soundness.
His career was tragically cut short whilst competing at Tweseldown Horse Trials in 2000 when he sustained a fatal injury. He was already advanced, accruing over 200 BE points in a short career which would have otherwise undoubtedly seen him feature in a number of major horse trials.
