Paris Sellon

Paris Sellon, who`s currently in her last year at university, began riding at the age of three and started to compete at seven. Both ambitious and independent, Paris is looking forward to making her own way in the show jump world and the day when she can reduce her parents` role in her career as she begins to ride full time. Currently, Paris`s mother heads up the administration and management of her Grand Prix horses whilst on tour.

Laura Kraut, a fellow US Grand Prix rider and also Nick Skelton`s partner, recognised Paris`s respect and admiration for Nick`s �get on and do` attitude. It was Laura`s idea to give Paris the opportunity to spend a summer training and competing with Nick and herself. Paris was understandably thrilled to be given the chance to learn from the experts. She is now studying hard at university to ensure she can focus when she tours the prestigious European circuit.

Paris is very close to her strong, loving family. As the youngest daughter of four, Paris`s sisters have given her a strong lead in life. Katherine is a fashion consultant who works in New York City and is married to Adam who is in finance. Maggie is currently working as an assistant director for Shakespeare in the Park in New York City and Ellie works in Independent film.

Paris`s love of horses stems back to her mother Debbie who was herself quite an accomplished rider before she gave the reins to her daughter when she began competing at the tender age of seven. Paris is also very lucky in that both her fathers: Bill Sellon, a building consultant, and James Burrows, the TV producer, support her unconditionally. Without both of them being so active in her life Paris believes she would not be who she is today. However, her �lucky` start in life is by no means making Paris feel that she can sit back on her laurels � she`s definitely a �Kick on and drive for your dreams` kind of person.

Paris Sellon spent a summer in the UK at the yard of Olympic gold medalist, Nick Skelton. Paris earned a wealth of experience in the company of Nick Skelton with his classic British `get the job done` attitude. She toured Europe this summer riding her own Grand Prix horses, with Nick and his partner US show jumper, Laura Kraut.

The Royal Windsor is the first show they will compete at. Paris can`t wait to come to England and experience its tradition and history. She`s always been a fan of the British Royal Family, particularly the Queen. She is thrilled to be able to compete at events that are linked to the traditions and history of England.
