Olivier Gras - France - Eventing
Looking around? I can refer you to several other breeders that have horses of varying price and quality. In-utero sales of Andalusians (all registered with IALHA, may NOT be PRE) starts at about $8,000 (for a baby). We rarely have older stock on the ground for sale. This breed is RARE and horses under saddle are even MORE RARE. Horses under saddle, if even available, generally are in the $20,000 to $30,000 range for average to good quality.
The best horses sell young (as babies) and often with a waiting list. For imported stock, prices start at $20,000 for a young, unbred, un-ridden horse plus importation costs of about $10,000. For other PRE stock from imported and high-end stock, weanling prices may be $12,000 to $20,000.
I typically price my colts for less than fillies - since fillies have an excellent return on the investment. And because I don`t have the facilities to keep stud colts. My foals are from PRE-approved Spanish stock and all babies are born eligible for inscription/revision. This is one reason they are priced higher than IALHA-registered or Spanish-Portuguese bloodline foals. The other reason for my prices is that both parents are confirmed show winners and their foals have show records as well - this and the quality of the mares is driving demand and prices.
