Murka’s Pom D’Ami was bought by Peter Charles’ major owner Olga White as a seven-year-old and quickly displayed his promise. After winning on the national circuit, a year later he made his international debut at the Hickstead Derby where he finished runner-up in a 1.50m class.
His first international win came later that summer when he won the first of two grands prix in Comporta, Portugal. The following day he finished second in the other.
In 2008, his international success continued with appearances on winning Nations Cup teams and individual wins at Royal Windsor, Dublin and Madrid.
Last year, Pom D’Ami started off the year with a grand prix win in Wellington, Florida. Throughout 2009, he was one of the most consistent members of British Meydan Nations Cup teams and partnered Peter as a member of the British team for the European Championships.
