switching my horse’s diet? HELP?
Ever since I have owned my horse, he has been boarded in a stall with small padock turnout and fed grain and alfalfa(sometimes hay). I have my horse with a trainer/barn manager who always monitered the feeding. I have absolutely no idea about what is the best thing to feed a horse. So anyway, now I am moving my horse to my new property where she will hopefully be in pasture grazing during the day and stall at night. So how do I go about deciding how much to feed him. he will be eating grass all day long or part of the day so will she need grain/alfalfa. FOr all I know, I think he has been fed grain his whole life(he was a show horse). I would say he gets moderate excersise. I work with my horse 4-5 times a week(some days groundwork and other days riding). Any suggestions or good websites I can go to for info?
