Originating from Russia the Lithuanian heavy draught horse breed was registered in 1963, the breed came about through the breeding of local Zhmud horses with that of Swedish Ardennes horses. The Lithuanian draught horse have an excellent temperament with immense strength making them perfect for agricultural work.
