Leopold Graf von Rothkirch und Trach
Leopold Graf von Rothkirch and Trach (* December 27 1923 in Kassel , † October 27th 2009 in Bonn ) was a German agriculture and forestry, officer and successful equestrian athletes .
Leopold was the son of Edwin Earl of Rothkirch Trach and out of an old Silesian nobility, successful show jumper and later general of cavalry , and his wife, Albertine, Countess of Schaumburg (1902-1935). After the war, Leopold was of high school Rothkirch 1942 Armed Forces convened. In 1944 he was an officer of the Tank Corps in the defensive fighting in Courland , East Prussia and Hungary used, and in April 1945 he made the Battle of the Seelow heights to the east of Berlin. 1948 Rothkirch was land surveyor, engineer in 1977. In 1950 he took over the estate Römerberg (Neuental) Römerberg | in northern Hesse .
In 1958 he became a reserve officer in the army . 1961 to 1970 he was a consultant for large companies with Massey-Ferguson , 1970 to 1976 Chairman of the Central Marketing Organisation of German Agricultural Industries (CMA). In 1976 he was promoted to colonel of the reserve of the armed forces. 1976 to 1984 he was head of public relations for the Deutz-Fahr agricultural equipment (KHD), then from 1984 to 1993 Advisor of the Dutch agricultural sector and the Dutch Embassy.
Leopold Graf von Rothkirch Trach and was an avid horseman, in the 1950s and 1960s successfully in all disciplines, especially eventing. Increasingly, he specialized in the carriage driving. He was board member of the "German Riding and Driving Association" (DRFV) and Chairman of the Section of driving DRFV. He had the ability to judge all Olympic disciplines to the highest class.
In 1950 he married Gabriele Heintze, from the marriage with two children. In 1977 he went into a second marriage with Ute Spieker.
