Q: Will EquiPride or EquiLix make my horse "hot"?
A: No. An abundance of undigested starches and sugars reaching the cecum is the main cause of a "hot" horse. The starches and sugars contained in EquiPrise have already been broken down in the manufacturing process. In fact, our customers tell us that their horses are noticeably calmer and more content on EquiPride, yet they have the energy and endurance necessary to work and perform at their best.

Q: Is EquiPride safe to combine with my horse`s current medications?
A: EquiPride is a nutritional supplement, so it can be used in conjunction with whatever medication program your veterinarian recommends. EquiPride allows the horse to absorb nutrients more effectively, which in turn helps to strengthen the immune system and hasten the healing process.
Q: Should I give the recommended amount of EquiPride immediately, or do I need to introduce it slowly?
A: You can feed the recommended amount of EquiPride immediately. As described above, the starches and sugars it contains are already broken down; and EquiPride is is designed for the highest bioavailability to the horse`s body.
A horse and rider have done 2x40km and 2x80km under the old novice system. If they do another 80km this year what will their new grading be? - Endurance Riding
They will still be graded Novice.
Horse Myth : You can disguise a horse by changing it`s color or some other such foolishness. Let me ask you this. If your best friend dyes his or her hair would you still recognize them? Horses look as different to horse people as your friends do to you. If you were to change the color of say, Smarty Jones, and a top flight trainer or jockey that had seen the horse walks by, sees the horse in a pasture a half mile away, the first words out of their mouth is `What did they do to Smarty Jones, and why?` I know, Dick Francis did it once, and I did read Dick Francis, but he tried to disguise what he was doing, and in the end even he didn`t believe it, I could tell by the way he was writing. He did go ahead and publish the thing anyway.
Grooming Your Horse - An Overview
While almost any animal should be groomed to keep it looking sleek and glossy, grooming a horse is even more important. Grooming a horse regularly can prevent serious medical problems, especially those that are hoof related.
Since a horse is so big and powerful, it is important to have complete control over your animal, even if he is well trained. After all, even the most well behaved horse can become startled by a strange noise and attempt to bolt. This is why you should never groom your horse without first checking to be sure his halter is in place and that he is attached to both cross ties. If you don`t have cross ties in your stable, you may be tempted to simply groom your horse in his stall, but this could be dangerous, as he can move sideways and trap you against one of the walls. You should have cross ties installed immediately, instead.
In large stables, the horses` owner rarely grooms horses. Instead, there are special employees who are hired just to care for the horses. However, most horse owners cannot afford to hire someone to care for their horses and do all of their own grooming. Of course, grooming your own horse for the first time can feel a bit overwhelming. If you haven`t groomed a horse before, you may want to ask another horse owner if you can watch the grooming routine he or she goes through before you pick up your curry comb. Even better, ask if you can help groom the horse. After all, there`s nothing better than doing it yourself when you are learning how to do something this important.
If you don`t ride your horse every day, you may be tempted to skip grooming sessions. However, you should complete at least part of the grooming routine every day. Don`t forget ......

Q: How do I get my "picky eater" to take EquiPride?
A: Many picky eaters accept EquiPride without hesitation, but for those who don`t, we offer a number of suggestions:
1) Start with only a 1/4 teaspoon of EquiPride per feeding and gradually increase over a few weeks until you reach the recommended dosage.
2) Spray a small amount of apple cider vinegar on EquiPride.
3) Put EquiPride in a separate bucket and let the horse discover it on its own.
4) Mix EquiPride with beat pulp.
5) Mix EquiPride with apple sauce.
6) Mix EquiPride with crushed, sugar free peppermints.
Once a picky eater accepts EquiPride, they`ll stay on it and lick their feed trough clean!

The Basics of Horse Care
When one owns a horse, it’s important to perform proper care for the horse and provide them with a safe and stimulating environment. The basic horse care that all horses need are proper food and water, a shelter for bad weather, exercise and grooming. Horses need to be fed every day and their water supply needs to be kept full and clean all throughout the day, as well. Their food and water supply should be easy to reach and readily accessible from their stable, which should also provide protection from the weather and be kept clean. A horse’s stable should be cleaned three times a day to ensure proper sanitation and keep the horse healthy.
Every horse should receive a certain amount of exercise a day. How much exercise they need is specific to each breed, but they should be given lots of space, at least an acre of pasture per horse, to run. Horses also need to be groomed. They don’t need grooming every day, and in fact, they should not be groomed every day as the oils on their coat will protect their skin. But a good brushing and grooming every other day will suffice. With a little knowledge, anyone can provide good basic care for their horse.
