Jackson Reed-Stephenson
Date of Birth: 21st March 1980
Dad Graham, ex showjumper. Mom Sandra, ex-national showjumper who now produces and trains showjumping horses. Sister Charlotte, former Junior European Showjumper
British showjumping rider Jackson Reed Stephenson & Crystal Cove Vilamoura, Spanish Sunishine Tour
Now running his own yard of 10 horses, Jackson is a great believer in thorough training and schooling, taking regular dressage lessons to improve his horses™ suppleness and way of going in the jumping arena. With a dedicated team, including his groom Helen (who has been with his family for 16 years and couldn`t live without) and, usually one full time training pupil, Jackson starts at about eight o`clock each morning, riding up to 5 horses in the morning before spending the afternoons teaching. “I am lucky to have a good team to take care of everything while I am away at shows, Jackson told us. It`s reassuring to know the horses left at home are in good hands.
The best bit about what I do is the feeling you get when you jump a good round or the horse you are on improves, he continues, although of course you can`t beat the feeling of winning! Jackson would love to represent his country again, ultimately at the Olympic Games, and hopes Rolex, one of his top horses, can help him achieve this. The seven year old has already been proving his worth this season in Ireland and Italy and hopefully he has more to give over the coming years.
If Jackson hadn’t got into show jumping he would have fancied being a stockbroker in London - thankfully he didn’t and is now an established and popular member of the British and European circuit.
Hates
