Jose A. Valdivia Jr.
Dante’s first cousin Jose A. Valdivia, Jr. rose to prominence when he guided Val Royal to an exciting Breeders’ Cup victory. “Toño” as the family has always called him, is making his mark in Southern California. An extended report about him appeared in the December 29, 2001 edition of The Blood-Horse. Here is fragment of what Lenny Shulman wrote:
“Jose Valdivia Jr. is a rising star in the bright constellation that is the Southern California riding colony. His recent win aboard Val Royal in the Breeders’ Cup (gr. IT) showed the rest of the world what two continents have already learned—Valdivia, 27, is a profound talent who is carrying forth the grand racing tradition of his family.”
Dante’s uncle Jose Valdivia Sr. was the first jockey to reach 1000 victories in Perú and upon retirement became a successful trainer before relocating the family to the United States.

Neatly nestled between rolling hills next to the Mississippi River, you can find a small paradise for horse and rider. Our stable specializes in full service boarding and the breeding of high quality American Saddlebred horses. Our facilities include an indoor arena (60` x 120`), riding trails and riding instruction. While visiting, you can enjoy an excellent home cooked meal at our Hillside Stables Restaurant, offering German/American cuisine in a friendly old world atmosphere. You can also relax and enjoy the countryside in our Hillside Stables Inn, a tastefully decorated two bedroom suite overlooking the pastures and stable.
Our establishment is also the home of our famous house dressing - Hillside Stables Mustard Garlic Salad Dressing & Dip.
The Cardinal M.
The Cardinal M. is a gorgeous chestnut sorrel stallion out of Bo`s April Charm and Missouri Traveler E. making him a full brother to Royal Flush M.
Cardinal is the 1996 2 year old World Grand Champion Stallion. Like Royal Flush his full sisters are World Grand Champions. Missouri`s Charming April is the 1993 World Grand Champion and Missouri`s Charming Princess is the 1994 World Grand Champion.
Cardinal will produce Blue-Papered offsprings. Come and see this young stallion.
If you`re interested in Missouri Fox Trotters you`ve come to the right place! Pete and Linda Clark have been riding and raising registered Missouri Fox Trotting horses since 1987. Their farm is located in southeast Ohio outside of the village of Albany. Linda says, "We train our horses for pleasure and trail riding, and usually have a few good horses for sale. He will stand to mount, neck reins, backs, loads, crosses wooden bridges, water, mud holes, anything and everything. A 13 year old boy rides him, a 67 year old man rides him. He is suitable for any rider that has confidence enough to climb in the saddle. He has no bad habits or faults. He is a big, beautiful, proud guy!
LF Saxon - (JK Amadues x Chammal) ’97 Grey Gelding. Sweepstakes Nominated. He is a tall, long legged, with a beautiful steel gray color. He should mature to around 15.2 hands. Easy moving, long strided hunter. Will be able to cover ground smoothly, something required today in the National arena. This gelding should be ready to show by late fall-early spring.
