Horse Treadmill
Horse Treadmills are becoming a popular choice for many large yards for both daily exercise as well as horse rehabilitation, below you can watch a video on the benefits of using a horse treadmill.
Aldhammill Equestrian - Aqua Treadmill
The Aqua Treadmill encourages your horse to build on his core muscles which are necessary to help carry himself and engage his hindlegs. This equipment is excellent for enhancing performance and for recuperation after injury.
Aqua training? What is this?
Movement in the water has long been recognized as an unmatched muscle and fitness training, because gravity is suspended in the water and not the full weight is placed on muscles and joints. Water provides a gentle resistance to the forces of construction, which increases when moving faster and thus increases the stress in a natural way. Too much momentum is slowed down by the water gently.
The Aqua Trainer offers a wide field of application in training. It can be used as a normal treadmill without using water. This variation is mainly used at the beginning of the training.
The horse is accustomed to the treadmill and then flooded with water relatively quickly. When used as a normal treadmill, the sliding film is obtained by water below the treadmill. Vet Peter Scholefield MA, VetMB, MRCVS recommends the use of a water treadmill in equine rehabilitation following many types of injury and also for general fitness and strengthening.
Yorkshire Dressage Aqua-Treadmill, Spa and Solarium for enhancing performance and for recuperation after injury.
"Modern water treadmills offer plenty of advantages over the equine swimming pool such as:
They train the horse to move in a natural and gently way.
The lowered front part of the treadmill allows the horse to feel safe and secure in its surroundings. The visual capture of all movements and noises is important for the horse to feel comfortable and stress free during the training session.
The movement of all muscle areas is visible at all times from the users position on the user walkway. " - Activo-Med
