Holsteiner Foals
Holsteiner foals are young horses that belong to the Holsteiner breed, which originated in Northern Germany and is known for its success in show jumping as well as dressage and eventing. According to the American Holsteiner Horse Association, Holsteiner foals are registered through the Holsteiner Verband, the official breeding association for the Holsteiner breed. A Holsteiner foal must have both its sire and dam approved for breeding by the Holsteiner Verband, and the foal`s DNA must be verified before registration.
In addition, the Holsteiner Verband maintains a strict set of breeding standards to ensure that only the best horses become part of the breeding program. These standards include inspections of mares and stallions, evaluation of conformation and movement, and pedigree analysis.
