Charlotte gets back into the swing of things on her pony
Charlotte is really enjoying having her pony back. She has returned from being backed by professional producer Sarah Fortt who has done a wonderful job with her. Charlotte is setting her sights on the Amateur, Home Produced and Novice classes next year.
Lily moves to Essex
Lily, our lovely broodmare, has been given to my sister Sal in Essex. She has been a wonderful mother and has bred 4 foals on the trot so we decided that she needed a break as we have no immediate plans to breed any more foals in the near future. We backed her and delivered her to Sal who was over the moon. She is being totally spoilt and is also teaching Lucia - (Sal`s 3yo daughter) how to ride as well. It is a great feeling to keep Lily within our family, as she has been such an easy mare. It is lovely to see her doing a completely different job now - although a late starter, she is, as usual, giving 100%.

Maggie and Imogen - CHAMPION Novice Coloured at New Forest
Maggie and Imogen contested the Novice Pony at the New Forest Show (29.7.10) and won their class. They then went on to become Novice Champions out of the horses and ponies. Imogen was so excited she did a huge lap of honour! It was a great result considering all of Imogen`s hard work is paying off - all those dreary winter days when she has got up early in the morning before school to muck out. When one considers we have no outside help here at Abbotswood with the horses, and Imogen is solely responsible for her pony Maggie, it is a great result for a girl who really works hard, and has a passion.
