Sue Kolstad has extensive experience shopping in Europe, with good connections, for locating exceptional horses at affordable prices in Holland, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. She has assisted many customers in going to Europe to "shop", and has also sold many horses just from the videos she has brought back from her trips. The horses she has sold to date are currently competing throughout the country, and are doing very well including several Regional Championships and Horse of the Year awards. Once we have found the horse of your dreams, Sue has a step-by-step process to walk you through, starting with the pre-purchase exam and ending with delivery to your barn door. The typical costs for importing are found here.

Training includes riding/training the horse 5 days a week. Sue trains classically as she was taught by several masters in Europe. In the past she has studied the French and German methods/history of training, and currently studies extensively in Sweden. She believes in using the method of training that is best for the horse. She utilizes several training methods such as: long-lining, lunging, in-hand work, close work, and driving. The goal of her training is to have a light horse with free expression, and a horse that is sensitive to the aids and correctly through the back with the poll at the highest point. Importing Costs:

Pre-purchase starting at $400+ depending on your vets specifications.

Air Transportation & Quarantine for Geldings $5000

Air Transportation & Quarantine for Mares $7500

Air Transportation & Quarantine for Stallions $10000

Quarantine for Geldings is 3 days.

Quarantine for a Mare is 14 days.

Quarantine for a Stallion is 1 month.

Delivery from Quarantine can be arranged by you or us. Cost will depend on where you are located.

Training:

$600 a month plus board (typically $350-400 a month)

This includes riding/training the horse 5 days a week. Horses receive turnout per your specifications, feedings are individualized including supplements provided by owner, a 12x12 stall cleaned daily bedded with shavings, special care is given by Sue and her private groom.
