Danica Guy Racing is a boutique stable where senior experienced horsemen attend to the individual needs of each young horse. There`s no computer programme for every horse to follow and no A or B teams, just intimate care and access to excellent facilities here on our property and at the Matamata track.
From a very small team we have had multiple winners at various Group and listed level and have qualified and presented runners in several Karaka Millions. We`ve also been named leading trainer at the 2014 Auckland Cup carnival and thanks to our great team of staff, owners and horses we continue to frequent the winner`s circle.
Danica Guy - My thoroughbred education started as an equestrian rider, including 20 years of competition up to 3-star level.
After retiring from the sport in 2004, I moved to Matatmata to make a go of racing as a career. Starting with a small, privately owned team, I also did breaking in and pre-training for various clients, including Curraghmore Stud and trainer Ken Kelso.
With the support of a handful of loyal owners and excellent staff, I`ve slowly grown the stable in terms of horse numbers. Breaking in and racing the likes of Gobi Ranger, Dragon Lair, Saatchi, Poppy Rose, Capone, Three Wishes and Showing Off to win first up at two has given me great satisfaction.
