Cheerful Z
Cheerful Z`s sire Caretino is, like Calvin Z, by the superb jumping progenitor Caletto II. Caletto II supplied many top-class horses such as the `92 Olympic jumping champion Classic Touch (Ludger Beerbaum) and Operette La Silla (Jan Tops). Caretino, who jumped at international level himself under Bo Kristoffersen and later Ludger Beerbaum, has also been very successful in breeding. Dega (Johansson) and Ballerina are two of his products with international performances. Ballerina even earned a gold medal for the German team at the `97 Mannheim European Championship under Markus Merschformann. Dam Rheinrose is a daughter of Fabulus, who, like Farn, is a son of Fax I. Fabulus also sired the stallion Flamenco and we meet him again in the pedigree of the great mare Osterblume, who produced three international showjumping horses and several licensed stallions including Landfalk (Landgraf I), Camposanto (Carthago Z) and Pirano (Piaster). Cheerful Z jumped the 1997 and 1998 World Championships for Young Horses at Lanaken in the 6- and 7-yr-old categories and is presently doing very well at international level under Jos Lansink.
