The Hosco Line of Aragones III. Hosco 1960 – Descarado II (Novato) x Hosca 1953 (Bilbaino III).
Hosco 1960 was from the famous Viuda de Terry line. The Terry stud originated in 1946 with the acquisition of various Cartujano horses. After the death of Don Fernando, Senora Dona Isabella Merello took over the stud for another 30 years. Hosco 1969 was a son of Descarado II who, along with another Terry stallion (Poseido IV), was used in for publicity of the Terry wine company. Novato and Bilbaino III are also in the Hosco line.
Daughters of Descarado II and Nevado III were considered the best mares and produced Poseido III, Poseido IV, Justiciero II, Honroso VI, Campanero XIII, Jardinero V, and Primoroso IX. In addition, sons of Nevado III and of the full brothers Hosco II, III, and IV from the Bilbaino daughter Hosca 1953 (a black mare) were of great importance. Descarado II was in demand as a breeding stallion and sired many champions.Bilbaino III eventually took over as the stud for Osborne, and his sons were all sold to the State, for example Hacendoso IV.
