The large top door also allows a lot of extra light when parked up at shows.
The horsebox sides are made from lightweight 4 element panel. This consists of GRP foam and timber layers. This is incredibly strong and lightweight.
The inside structure is made from a lightweight 14mm panel. We aim to keep things as light as possible without compromising strength. This will allow you more pay load to play with and better performance and fuel consumption than you would get with heavier conventional boxes.
To enhance the aesthetics of your conversion we have custom mouldings that cover front rear and sides of the body. See our gallery for examples.
A viewing window can be added at the customers request.
Breast bar between horse and groom is removable for safety and convenience.
The floor is covered in a durable EVA matting. This comes with drain holes for ease of cleaning.
Partition slides on runners for single person manoeuvrability and to allow for wider horses or a mare and foal option.

We are a small family business which has come about after the Murray`s, an accident repair specialist with over 50 years experience in the trade, joined forces with the Birrells, A family with generations of equine experience.
We wanted our own vehicle to safely transport horses without a requirement for any extra licenses or heavy lifting! We came across the Renault master 3.5t when we hired one to transport our horses. We liked the design but decided we could do it better! Horsebox Scotland was born.

Van and Body
We can convert any long wheelbase 3.5 T van into a 3.5 tonne horsebox. The examples featured are based on a Renault master or Vauxhall Movano chassis. All our vehicles have diesel engines, power steering and 5 or 6 speed gear boxes. Our innovative top ramp design has a longer top door to allow for unloading ease. Your horse will be able to turn as soon as both of the doors are open avoiding the panic caused when having to back out blindly in traditional designed boxes. The horse travel is rear facing.The large top door also allows a lot of extra light when parked up at shows.
