Bettina Eistel
Bettina Eistel came in 1961 as a result of thalidomide -Schädigung without arms to the world. She made her high school in 1979 and studied from 1980 to 1981 art history, archeology and ethnology in Hamburg, followed by an eight-year study of psychology. During her psychology studies, she participated as a thalidomide-damaged athlete from 1985 to 1989 in a riding project with children in the home in Hamburg. In 1989 she finished her studies with a diploma and since then has been working as a psychologist in a Hamburg counseling center for child and family therapy. Between 1991 and 1994 she had attended elementary schools across Germany in order to - together with a partner - present children`s theater productions (such as ` Peter and the Wolf `) using her puppet theater `The 7 Ravens` . In the period from 2002 to 2005 Eistel was able to distinguish himself in equestrian sports for the disabled and win several prizes. She had held the reins of her horse with her mouth.
