Barbara Brooks

Brooks, 57, is a cutting horse owner, a non-pro competitor, a breeder and a show producer. She produced the Music City Futurity the past 10 years. She has also earned $320,820 as a non-pro cutting horse rider. Brooks previously served as a state director and NCHA standing committee member and she`s currently a member of the NCHA Executive Committee.

Barbara and her husband, country music singer and nationally syndicated radio host Kix Brooks, have raised cutting horses at Painted Springs Farm in Tennessee since the late 1990s. Horses they own have earned more than $1.3 million so far. Barbara and Kix will celebrate their 30th anniversary in August. They have two children, a daughter, Molly, 24, and a son, Eric, 21. The couple`s children don`t compete as cutters but Kix has competed at celebrity events and in the $2,000 Limit Rider division.
