The Victorian Racing industry is widely regarded as the leader and innovator of the Australian and world racing scenes. It is also home to the world famous Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate and Caulfield Cup.
You can be a part of this excitement when you study at the Australian Horse Racing Academy. From day one you will be an integral part of a fully operational racing stable.
Your training is both practical and intensive.
You will learn all aspects of stablehand and trackwork duties including stable management, grooming, horse health and fitness, feeding, basic horse riding and thoroughbred trackwork.
The Australian Horse Racing Academy has only two intakes per year and student places are limited to only ten people per intake.With such small student numbers and a guaranteed minimum of three teaching staff, you are assured of unsurpassed tuition and attention at the academy.
On successful completion of the course you will receive a Government accredited diploma - Certificate III Trackwork Rider/Stablehand.
The Australian Horse Racing Academy is a Government approved training organisation that gives you peace of mind on the standard of training we provide.

The facilities at the Australian Horse Racing Academy make learning first rate fun. Whilst your training is intensive, the facilities at the property will ensure you learn in comfort and luxury.
There is plenty of room to expand your learning at the Australian Horse Racing Academy. The expansive 168 acre property has an extensive stable and spelling complex, two dressage arenas, one jumping arena under lights and fully equipped veterinary shed. The huge indoor arena however is the property`s showpiece. Learn in comfort no matter the weather conditions outside. This massive undercover arena has an enclosed observation deck and classroom with full kitchen facilities.
It is not all work though! The Australian Horse racing Academy has an in-ground swimming pool and a fully equipped games room for you to enjoy.
