The Augeron breed of horse originate from Pays d`Auge ( an area in Normandy France), developed from the strong Percheron draft breed they are well-nuilt, strong and energetic standing between 158-170 cm (15.2-16.3 hands) in height. Breeders of Augeron horses formed the The Societe hippique du trait augeron, or Augeron Horse Society in 1913 and is responsible for making the Augeron horse breed distinct from its Percheron horses ancestor.
