Animo II Z (ex Romantico)
This bay son of Animo, standing 1.64 m, has the look of a winner and possesses balance, technique, a super-fast foreleg, carefulness and a spectacular use of hindquarters and power. Last but not least, he is an easy ride. He is {in 2002} only a 10-yr-old but has already proven himself in international competitions. As a 7-yr-old he was one of the best representatives of his age group with victories in Monterrey and Valkenswaard. Considering his background, the apple has not fallen far from the tree in Animo II Z.
His sire is the Almé Z son Animo who can look back at an impressive sport career, with honourary placings at the Grand Prix of Helsinki and Oslo (third}, a fourth place in the World Cup at Antwerp and a start in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He was licensed as a sire for life by the KWPN and in an interview in horse magazine Horse and Hound, Michael Whitaker once called him the best jumping stallion in the world. Via his dam Ginkie (Akteur} Animo II Z brings the much coveted blood of Sinaeda, that exercises its influence over many generations. Also Akteur remained active in the sport until a very ripe age. Some of the best known Animo offspring in the international sport are Bodyguard (Philippe Le Jeune}, Burg’s Gracia, Animo’s Hallo, Andiamo (Jos Lansink} Aniapollo (Norman dello Jojo}, Romantico La Silla (Santiago Lampre} and Any Time (Di Lampard}. Talking about offspring, grandsire Akteur has mainly become famous for his products Governor, multiple Grand Prix and Masters winner under Philippe Le Jeune and Tepic La Silla ridden by Alfonso Romo. Animo II Z was bought by Mexico, not least because his foals and yearlings made a tremendously good impression.
