I will use the example of a Web Designer and Developer in Melbourne, Australia.
1. The website should be hosted in the country and if possible the city in which you plan on targeting with your online marketing strategy.
2. The website should have on page search engine optimization which is tailored towards the region - country - city. So, in other words these three elements, if they are identified as the target market, should be mentioned in titles, keywords, meta tags, content, on page titles, links etc within the website.
Local Search Secrets
Local Search Secrets unlocks the mystery behind getting on the first page of the local search results. It is typically easier to get a top ranking on the local results than it is on general seo positioning. The important thing to realize is that the top position or "A" gets 50% of the traffic and click troughs!
Here are a few of the most important factors:
Number of Citations
Number of positive reviews

One of the key elements to Internet and Online marketing is identifying your target market. Who are they, how old are they and most importantly where are they located? With the advent of more advanced geo-location software systems being used by Google we are now able to target very specific markets with our online marketing campaigns.
The first step in this process is to write down and identify your market with the 3 questions I have listed above. Once you have done that then you should consider the following and address them in order to hone in on your target search engines and then consequently your target market.

How to respond to a negative review
Sure it hurts and it’s probably not fair.
Thousands of happy customers don’t take the time to say something nice, but one angry customer can vent their frustrations on a myriad of business review sites. Then the search engines pick it up and it seems like the same scathing review pops up everywhere.
Can you get unfair reviews removed? Probably not–not unless the language is course or what they is legally liable (very tough to prove). The good news is having a review of your business, even a bad review, will help your rankings on the local search engines. As has been said many times in Hollywood, there is no such thing as bad publicity. Any publicity gets people talking about you.
However, there is something effective you can do to fight back positively. We recommend you make a copy of the review and forward it to all your best customers with a note that asks “In our continued commitment to good quality and customer service, we want to ask you, or valued customers, is our service or quality slipping? Is this review misleading or accurate?” Say nothing else. Some who disagree with the review will feel compelled to draft a review of their own experience. You can’t hope to remove a negative review but you can work to balance the picture.
DO NOT (these are very important):
Do not ask your best customers to write a review. It disrespects their time and devalues their opinion. Reviews need to reflect what consumers want to say, not what they think you want them to say.
Do not write a customer review yourself or ask one of your employees to write a review. A company we know decided to do just that. An algorithm at Google determined they were attempting to spoof the system and put their site in the dreaded “sandbox.” In other words, they completely disappeared from all the search results except for the specific name of their company. Don’t even think of risking this. Never gamble with anything as valuable as search results.
