Aloha Sunrise
CRT Stable #1 has acquired our first horse -- a 2 year old bay colt by Aloha Prospector out of the Imp Society mare Morning Society. This colt was a private purchase from Sunrise Stable South in Ocala, FL, and was selected by our Hall of Fame trainer for New York, Mr. P.G. Johnson. His name was approved by the Jockey Club and is officially Aloha Sunrise now.
Aloha Sunrise was bred by Sunrise Stables South. The dam, Morning Society, was purchased for racing, but was injured before her racing career started. Aloha Sunrise is the second foal of Morning Society, the other a 1995 filly by Fortunate Prospect who has two wins so far as a 3 year old. Morning Society is a good sized dam. Aloha Sunrise is about 15.2 hands now, and will probably top out at close to 16 hands. The granddam, MORNING MISS, won 10 times and has produced 6 winners from 7 foals to race, including the graded stakes winner HAIL THE RUCKUS.
P.G. Johnson and Aloha Sunrise The sire, Aloha Prospector, was a graded stakes winner and has sired a number of good runners, including graded stakes winner UNFINISHED SYMPH, who was 3rd in the Breeder`s Cup Mile in 1994. Aloha Prospector`s progeny have continued to increase in auction prices the past several years. This year alone, the average price for his 2 year olds has increased to $60,000. You can get more details about him at his own web page.
Aloha Sunrise will be trained in New York by Mr. Johnson. We`re very excited about our first horse in CRT Stable #1.
Update: Aloha Sunrise ran a credible 4th in his first start and 8 days later won in very professional style at Belmont Park on 10/15. He should be racing again around the end of October.
