Missouri`s Penny Candy is a well-mannered, sorrel mare who has produced one of the best two-year olds of ’98. Candy is a full sister to Traveler’s Rockaway Drummer (1992 World Champion 3 Year Olds and in the 1998 European Championship he placed 3rd in Stallions & Geldings 4 & Older and 3rd in Stallions & Geldings 5 & Older). Candy is sired by Missouri Traveler (sire of many world champions) and her dam is Bomb’s Rockaway Candy (from a long line of show horses). Candy has become one of our best riding horses when she isn’t heavy with foal. She makes a wonderful mountain horse and has the most common sense we have seen in a trail horse. This mare is from some of the finest lines in the fox trotter industry. Her show pedigree can be traced well beyond the fox trotter pedigree.
In 1998, her two-year old palomino colt (Sunrise Traveler) won the 1998 Mid-America 2 Year Old Futurity Champion Open Division, 1998 – 3rd in Stallions & Geldings 2 Year Olds, and 1998 – 4th in World Grand Championship 2 Year Olds. This colt was a real crowd pleaser if you were at the National Breeders Cup.
