SOUTHERN LAUREL �Brandy� is only one of two horses that has ever had two World Grand Champion siblings. "Brandy`s" only full siblings are Southern Playboy and Sunrise Society Man. Southern Playboy won `99 World Champion Open 4 Year Old, and also won 1999 Reserve 4-year old Champion National Breeder`s Cup, and Society Man won `99 World Champion Amateur 3 Year Old. She is a dark, dappled palomino sired by Southern Sunrise and her dam is Missouri Laurel (from a long line of show horses). Her full brother is Southern Playboy (1997- 2 Year Old Futurity Open Stud & Gelding Champion, 1997 � 2 Year Old Futurity Open Grand Champion, 1997 � 2 Year Old Open Stud & Gelding Champion Ava Spring Show, 1997 � 2 Year Old Grand Champion Ava Spring Show, 1997 � 2 Year old Open Stud & Gelding Champion Mid-America Fall Show, 1998 - Champion 3 Year Olds at Spring Show, Ava and 1998 - 6th in Stallions & Geldings 3 year old). In 2000, Southern Laurel took 4th place in the Breeder`s Cup (3-year olds) after only six weeks training. Zach Stevens rode her to 5th place in the 3-year old, world championship mare class.
