The soft-gaited, gentle, all-purpose breed begun over 150 years ago in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas has become an "over-night sensation" with pleasure riders all across America. But as with other breeds, demands of the show ring have led to many changes in recent years, Here at Foxfire Farm, we believe the traditional Missouri Fox Trotter was a versatile athlete to suit the needs of many different riders. It has been our goal to preserve and promote these foundation bloodlines in our breed. [The photo above shows our 1997 foal, 3 day old Foxfire`s Brandy Jack - from Cotham Dare, Old Charley and Golden Governor breeding.
We are breeders, not dealers, so that most of the stock we have available will be young, unfinished horses we offer to other breeders looking for the old-time bloodlines. We have an excellent trainer who can start these horses under saddle for you, by special arrangement. And, we would be happy to work with owners whose older horses may need a little gentle help in establishing their gaits.
