how do i look up a race horse’s back ground?
my friend is renting a house, her landlord has 5 horses on the property. (2 mares, and 3 fillies) one of the mares has a tattoo on her upper lip, and was once registered to the maine standard bred breeders and owners association. the only thing we know about her is she has never had a saddle on her, and she was a racer. how can i look her up to find out her name, and past history? we dont know who the breeder was, or the last owner. the horses belong to her landlord who is in his 80’s. if it helps any, her tattoo is “M742″ or “i17429″

I started training Poco Doc Fritz in 1992 for Dan and Kitty Miller. He was their cutting and reined cow horse prospect. But, much to their regret, they decided to sell him. The colt was going good, very willing and athletic. I seized the opportunity and bought him!
I have been ranching and roping off him for the past six years. He has been a great horse and has had some great foals.
Poco`s foals have proven to be some of the easiest foals I have ever worked with. They`ve been willing and comfortable with people as babies. And grown to be great minded, athletic and cowy. His foals are cutting, reining, roping and some are just out working cows on the ranch. Just give these horses a job and they`ll love it!
