Snickers wrapped up her first year as a lesson horse and she did perfectly without a hitch. Kids have pulled, jerked, poked and acted up around and on her but she maintains her composure. She is very gentle at telling us when something bothers her, in which case I quickly correct the unruly rider! Happy horse first from a quiet rider! Snickers has done birhday party rides since 2007 so this is NOT her first time under rider or child. It is merely her first year as a full fledged lesson horse and she has an exceptional demeanor for it. I get kids who are intimidated by her size, adults too yet the minute they realize they dont have to be afraid they fall in love with her! A big baby is pretty much the best way to describe her. That or a lap dog.

Health status

She will be bred out in 2015! (Trix did not take to being bred live cover or AI in 2012, so we will re breed Trix in 2013, thus pushing Snickers breeding back at least a year or more)

Her past
I paid 500 cash for a starved qh yearling filly, possibly younger. Her bones stuck out, feet untrimmed, halter broke and did not know how to trailer load, saddle up or pick up her feet. I ponied her home 5 miles away. She did beautifully. She had a severe and unexpected injury which required stitches, antibiotics, a drain shunt, removal of a nail in the hoof, x rays, crash course in hoof dressings among other tasks. She had a rough start, could have died but DID pull through. She has scars to this day but that does not matter at all. She is still all leg and big watery eyes.

Current training

She is being trained in english/dressage, jumping and more extended (5 plus mile) trips as well as neighborhood, close quarters traffic riding.

Her skills (Advanced)

She is suitable for everyone. I raised and trained her up. Today she rides tackless, One rein stop, Opens gates (and shoves them open with her nose too) Drops her head, Hugs on command both shoulders, Leads tackless, Rides out under bridle, saddle, halter and bareback. She does trail, Riding in groups, under child or adult. Riding lessons, farrier, horse training
