Aaron Millar
Aaron Millar is an equestrian rider who is successful in the sport of eventing. Based in East Devon, Aaron Millar like many professional sportsmen began on competition in Pony Club events. As a young rider Aaron Millar won the 2006 young event rider showjumping championships, and finished 4th in the Under 21 rankings.
In 2009 Aaron Millar fulfilled one of his ambition riding his amazing horse Stormstay at Badminton horse trials. Aaron Millar has established himself to be skilled with young horses and is well respected rider for producing young horses.
18 year old Aaron Millar finished in second place at the Royal Windsor horse show in the under 21`s championship, riding Stormstay the big 16.3hh gelding, Aaron has been getting help from trainer Carolyn Creighton. Laurne Shannon is fortunate to have two horses available and is able to choose her mount between Zero Flight and Quixotic, both of which have had excellent results over the past eventing season. The final member is Jolyse Clancy who is probably the most experienced from the group, member of last years junior European bronze medal winning team from last year, she is the only member of the current squad to have competed abroud, and working for one of the leading British showjumping riders Scott Smith she is sure to have got lots of helpful tips and advice. Clansy will be partnered by On Song a horse she knows very well having ridden her over the past 3 years.
The squad will be joined by a host of friends and family to give these young riders support for the future.

Having ridden from a young age Aaron Millar has always had a love for all things equestrian and he was always going to go into riding, Aaron Millar`s dream came true when he competed in one the worlds biggest event in 2009 when he started at Badminton in the famous horse trials. The six junior riders have been selected to represent the UK in the Junior European Championships, the team consists of Paul Whithead the British under 18`s champion with his horse Strathmore High Spirits. 17 year old rider Charlotte Agnew who won the intermediate Osberton under 21`s, Charlotte will be riding Little Beau a 15.3hh gelding, who initially struggled in the dressage stage but with lots of help from Jane Rutherford and Ian Stark, managed to greatly improve their scores. The young 22 year old eventer from Devon who successfully completed Badminton riding the talented Stormstay, over the last year this partnership have seen many good results at some of the biggest events including Burghley, Gatcombe, Powderham Castle and many others. As well as Stormstay Aaron Millar has other talented horses coming through the ranks from novice upwards his list of horses include Allercombe Poppy, King of Hearts, Butterfly II, Leonardo VIII, Maraca, Yawl Hillbilly , Allercombe Ellie and Shiriff. American jockey Aaron Gryder was born in 1970, coming from California, Aaron started riding at the age of 13 taught by Rudy Campas a successful retired jockey.He had a bumpy start to his professional racing career when at 16 he fell from a horse when exercising his saddle slipped, the race stewards asked him to leave. After this initial setback Aaron Gryder traveled to Mexico were he became very successful at the Agua Caliente race track. His first victory in Mexico was in 1987 on the 19th of January riding Ragin Henry to the win.
After this good spell in Mexico that gave him the confidence to return to California to have another go on his home soil. At the Hollywood Park meet in 1987, Aaron Gryder was an apprentice jockey, during this breakout year he rode Asteroid Field to a Grade I win in the Matriarch Stakes. Aaron Gryder career spanned all across the United States riding at race meeting on the East and West coasts as well the Midwest. In the 1998-1999 season he won 53 wins even though he missed 6 weeks after an injury from a fall. He spent the 2007 racing season on the west coast of America he rode nearly 900 horses, winning over a hundres races, mounting a massive 5.5 million dollars firmly establishing him as one of the top 40 jockeys by money won. This success has continued, continually being one of the big earners in American racing world In 2009 riding Well Armed, Aaron Gryder won the Dubai World Cup, romping to victory over Gloria De Campeao beating him by a massive 14 lengths. This was his biggest career win bagging a massive $6,000,000. For the rest of the 2009 season Aaron Gryder raced in Hong Kong.

As well as his successful racing career, Aaron Gryder is involved with numerous charities including the Oscar de la Hoya Foundation.
