In the dressage team Competition the West German team continued there dominance winning gold, with Switzerland winning silver and Canada taking the bronze medal.

The showjumping competition was full of legends, won by the famous Jappeloup ridden by French rider Pierre Durand, Jr, beating American rider Greg Best riding the great Gem Twist, the bronze medal was won by Karsten Huck and Nepomuk 8 representing West Germany.
